2012: 'christian' in name only? ... this message is not for you

2012

If you are as many people ...'christian' in name only, this message is not for you ...you wouldn't understand.

Must read: The Religion of Politics Eyes wide shut

14 January 2012: Only today, a 'christian' pastor rebuked this article.
His exact words ...'Please, don't attach my name to what has the hint of a negative connotation. You want me to see it but others connect wrong dots.' ...so, what's he feeding his flock?

Luke 9:26 says '
If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.' New International Version (©1984)

Reality check

With time running short ...if you find yourself claiming to be a Christian and not doing any of the following ...God watches over His people. He knows those who claims the faith in name only and who truly honors and obeys His Word.

King James Version (KJV)

1 Thessalonians 5

1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;

13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feeble minded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

16 Rejoice evermore.

17Pray without ceasing.

18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

19 Quench not the Spirit.

20 Despise not prophesyings.

21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

22 Abstain from all appearance of evil.

23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

25 Brethren, pray for us.

26 Greet all the brethren with an holy kiss.

27 I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.

28 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

Time is short

If you find yourself at the alter of politics backbiting and divided over the November election ...

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

'Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.' James 1:22

Consequences come to those who claim that Jesus is Lord but fail to be doers of His Word.

He who has ears, let him hear... Endrun Project Post: 'November 3, 2010: Now What?'

Jesus said:

3“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. Matthew 7:3-5

He also says:

21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 7:21

43“No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. 44Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. 45The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:43-45

46“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? Luke 6:46

49 ...the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. Luke 6:49

Hypocrisy (Wiki)

Hypocrisy is the act of persistently professing beliefs, opinions, virtues, feelings, qualities, or standards that are inconsistent with one's actions. Hypocrisy is thus a kind of lie.

see: The Religion of Politics Eyes wide shut

The hypocrite thinks that what he or she usually professes does not somehow apply to him or her. It is not simply an inconsistency between what is praised or admired and what is done. Samuel Johnson made this point when he wrote about the misuse of the charge of "hypocrisy" in Rambler No. 14:

Nothing is more unjust, however common, than to charge with hypocrisy him that expresses zeal for those virtues which he neglects to practice; since he may be sincerely convinced of the advantages of conquering his passions, without having yet obtained the victory, as a man may be confident of the advantages of a voyage, or a journey, without having courage or industry to undertake it, and may honestly recommend to others, those attempts which he neglects himself.

hypocrisy

hypocrisy [hɪˈpɒkrəsɪ]

God gave us common sense and a conscientious for a reason if we choose not to use them we pay the consequences as we are NOW. If American voters put their faith in media and pundits rather than common sense we will be further divided and finished before the November 2012 elections.

There is a price to pay for this...

2011: Qur'an-burning controversy ...Playing with Fire Grieving the Holy Spirit

2011: Grieving the Holy Spirit
Qur'an-burning controversy ...Playing with Fire
by @endrunlv

'Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.' (Dr. Martin Luther King)

'We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.' (Benjamin Franklin).

'From our choices come consequences.' Endrun

Staying on top of global issues which have potential impact on America's security and future as we do at The Endrun Project [TEP] is challenging to say the least.

Nothing perceived by the general public (including government officials) is at it seems.

Rest assured, leaders ...especially elected officials and 'pundits' relying on conventional wisdom, hate to admit they really have no answers for resolving any of a number of current domestic and global events from the economy to the Middle East.

On that note ...pointing fingers and elaborating on what everyone already knows ...is a waste of everyone's energy.

Most Endrun readers know ...as the conventional wisdom and logic of 'all the kings horses and all the king's men' continue to fail (miserably) ...The Endrun Project [TEP] takes Spiritual issues into perspective when connecting the dots on strategic current events that defy common sense, placing them in context with ancient prophesy much like an archeologist piecing together the puzzle of certain discoveries.

In the last 'Endrun Reflections' post " 'Christians' and 'Pundits': You Will Know Them By Their Fruits" standards expected with certain 'labels' people parade around (like waving a flag) and the consequences for defying principles associated with the labels come with a price ...if nothing more than what some people call Karma or in other realms ...cause and effect our actions can not only be deadly ...but eternal ...not only to an individual but to a nation or even Humanity itself.

The unprecedented events unfolding before our eyes are directly connected to these principles ...down to the last detail.

Common Sense

Whether one chooses to believe or not ...some things in the universe you simply don't want to do regardless of how justified or bulletproof you imagine yourself to be ...jumping out of an airplane without a parachute from 30,000 feet is one example, standing in the fast lane of a freeway in California and walking through a minefield blindfolded are a couple more.

(Of course being a world leader and attempting to con throngs of people smarter than you holds up only for so long ...and doesn't come without consequences either.)

Grieving the Holy Spirit

So too, when you claim to be a pastor or minister of God ... even a 'follower of Jesus' whether you're legitimate or not come with standards and expectations.

For me, realizing Terry Jones' burning of the Qur'an was like a 'Star Wars' moment when Obi-Wan Kenobi senses a disturbance in The Force when Alderaan is destroyed by the Death Star.

Certain Spiritual and Holy matters are no one's business but God's. If you don't believe in God ...jump out of an airplane without a parachute from 30,000 feet ...we'll be waiting for you on the ground for you to prove your point.

There are two major references in the bible to grieving the Holy Spirit. The first (much as we have in the United States from our founding principles and commitment to God) is in reference to the Israelites turning their back on God; “…they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit”

'So he turned and became their enemy
and he himself fought against them.
' (Isaiah 63:10).

(What God will to to the Israelites He makes no exceptions)

The second is in a letter from Paul to the church in Ephesus where he writes, “do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption” (Ephesians 4:30).

This section is talking about how to live as a Christian. Paul continues with, “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice” (Ephesians 4:31).

These are worldly emotions and actions which are contrary to how we should live in Christ.

For our actions good or bad, God judges the nations as well as individuals ...

Jesus Himself says:

46“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? Luke 6:46

21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 7:21

49 ...the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. Luke 6:49

1“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Matthew 7:1-2

The issue is not about agreeing or disagreeing with radical Islamists or the potential threat proclaimed by various leaders against the United States, Israel and Pro-Western democracies and Christianity ...the issue is as one who claims to be a 'Christian' and follower of Jesus ...steward and shepherd of His 'flock' willfully defying God's specific Word and arrogantly taking upon themself action on something within the Sovereignty of God and only God.

Like the Christian Crusades ...how pathetic will it sound in the aftermath of this incident and Judgment insisting ‘Lord, Lord,’ ...'but I burned the Qur'an in Your Name'.

Already there are all kinds of alleged 'christians' jumping on Terry Jones' bandwagon who have been rather than turning to God in respect to His business, building the case against Islam as a whole.

A Word of Caution

Never underestimate forces outside of your control and consequences for your actions.

Its bad enough paying consequences for defying the laws of nature ...NEVER defy the Laws of God without realizing the consequences ...ESPECIALLY ...while proclaiming His or His Son Jesus' Name in vain by defying His Word despite all He has done for you ...every blessing, down to our very next breath, virtually undeserved ...and by Grace ONLY!

Right or wrong ...already, people are dying in Afghanistan for Terry Jones' action.

For his moment of imagined glory at least for a time ...by this action Terry Jones threw you, your children, neighbors and innocent people throughout the world under the bus ...and the train just left the station.

You Will Know Them By Their Fruit

You Will Know Them By Their Fruit
by @endrunlv

Luke 9:26 says 'If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.' NewInternational Version (©1984)

To date, of the hundreds of people world wide reading this post, only two have misunderstood the message thinking that invitation to read this post was directed to them personally. Rest assure unless the shoe fits ...nothing personal is intended. Before cutting to the chase ... just keep things in context.

People are prone to adopt labels which best identify with others who they are or what they are about in hopes of attracting like minds or acceptance.

Certain standards are expected or assumed by the label or labels one adopts.

For example, I can't say I am a diplomat or a statesman without evidence to support it ...anymore than I can say I am a 'pundit' or expert on certain subjects.

The Endrun Project Research enjoys various resources as a means to gain the most accurate perspective on many issues ...Twitter is no exception.

The majority of Twitter profiles are teaming with labels and declarations like #TCOT, #GOP, #Libertarian, Christ follower, Conservative, Christian, Patriot, Pundit and even the icons they want to be identified with like #Beck, #GlennBeck ...and the list goes on.

On a side note ...but somewhat interesting ...we have yet to see anyone proclaiming #hypocrite.

From a sampling standpoint, Twitter 'Tweets' can be to a researcher or statistician better than any poll or research study so much so that real time individual and collective behavior and reaction to specific events can be studied as they are unfolding in any municipality, or region of the United States ...even globally ... race, religion, political preference or ideology ...in other words, by knowing what to look for ...the truth.

A researcher can learn a lot about things few people even look for (whether people are who they say they are, walking their talk [sincere], going with the flow, or whether they even know what they are talking about.)

The Endrun Project
learned labels in and of themselves can be dividing at a time when our nation and Humanity itself needs unity. We
[TEP] try to avoid being associated with a label but rather recognized for what we do instead of 'who' we do.

The the very nature of people who base life around labels ...even saying we are Christian or Christ followers would automatically lock us into 'religion' as easily as saying we are 'conservative' would lock us into 'right wing' 'Republicans' or 'Tea Party' what evers ...when in reality we at The Endrun Project are neither religious nor partisan ...as we understand The Bible, neither was Jesus, and obviously not God.

Notwithstanding, we
[TEP] hold the teachings of Christ as intended for anyone claiming to be a Christ follower or Christian to the highest standard, and doers of the fullness of His teachings in reverence and obedience.

Being a 'Christ follower' is understanding who He is and what He's about and living by and doing His teachings and commands not for appearances or acceptance of others but for the right reason which only He knows.

Christ's teachings tell us many things followers should and should not do.

1“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Matthew 7:1-2

We [TEP] see many Twitter folk claiming to be 'Christian' caught up in politics ...outwardly praising certain political icons while bashing, blaming and finger pointing at the ineptitude and corruption in Washington we all agree has to go.

Repeatedly The Endrun Project has said we should be blaming ourselves ...our own apathy and complacency for allowing Washington and states' governments to get out of control in the first place.

Luke 6:49

We find there is not one word in The Bible that Jesus spoke that isn't there for a reason and should be taken very seriously ....nothing for granted or just keeping the warm fuzzy parts ...but all of it.

Be careful what banner you chose to wave without realizing that to The Lord ...talk is cheap.

Sadly ...we witness 'christians'
these days turning their back even on other believers while not following the teachings of Jesus themselves.

'The Bible says ‘The sheep will be separated from the goats.. the sheep at the Right Hand and the goats at the other… There will be talk of peace for Jerusalem, but there will be no peace.’

Despite all the distraction and confusion in Washington, the Middle East, the European Union ...even Russian politics ...nothing should be underestimated or taken for granted.

Whether you see it as religious strife, political strife, racial strife or economic strife ...the separation has begun.

As each day of 2011 passes with unprecedented global events unfolding before their eyes, people world wide ...are searching for answers regarding the future.

Even in the grim midst of evil surrounding Humanity there is absolute hope ...let go of 'conventional wisdom' and open your eyes.

The writing on the wall

Up to now, maybe you haven't cared ...but given that nothing seems to be going in the right direction for America ...maybe it's time to read 'the writing on the wall' ...
